Intensely fruity and filled out with lots of rich oak, root-beer-like spice and scant touches of violets in its aromas, this big-bodied offering follows with like-minded flavors that convey the same sense of fruity richness as well as complexing layers of spice and sweet oak. It is supple in feel and neatly balanced with just the right degree of fine-grained tannins for aging, and, if impressive now, it seems bound to be even more so if allowed to rest in the cellar for another few years.
