Product Description
From the Black Rock Vineyard in Lake County, this is a unique spot from an appellation that doesn’t get a lot of respect in wine circles. This one definitely makes a statement however, with classic, bold blueberry fruit laced with notes of bittersweet chocolate and minerals. You got your classic lash of Petite ‘chew’ on the back side, but the tannins are ripe and it’s all in good fun. This vineyard is made up of red soils covered with broken obsidian rock which act as solar collectors to aid ripening. That and the low yields result in a gutsy wine that has enough polish for the civilized but will definitely be ‘old school’ enough for traditionalists. Cool stuff.
